Information we collect

Chitworks may collect account details such as names, email addresses, authentication records, organization membership, and role. Customers may provide organization and property details, building and location information, technician names and mobile phone numbers, maintenance messages, photographs, attachments, and related operational records.

Standard service records may also include IP address, browser and device information, request times, authentication events, and diagnostic information used to operate and protect the service.

How information is used

We use information to provide customer accounts, keep each organization's records separate, receive and organize maintenance evidence, support users, maintain reliability, secure the service, prevent misuse, and improve Chitworks. Chitworks does not sell personal information.

Authentication and communications

Chitworks uses email addresses to verify accounts, support sign-in and password recovery, deliver service notices, and protect accounts. Technician mobile numbers are used to recognize authorized senders and associate incoming maintenance messages with the correct organization. Where a technician chooses to receive Chitworks operational text messages, we retain the consent details needed to administer that choice.

Text messaging privacy

Chitworks operational text messages may include account-access notices, technician access confirmations, work-submission acknowledgements, and support responses. Message frequency varies with the technician's work and account activity. Message and data rates may apply. A person may reply STOP to stop recurring operational texts or HELP for help. We do not sell, rent, or share SMS consent or mobile-number data with third parties for their own marketing or promotional purposes.

Maintenance evidence and metadata

Submitted messages and photographs may contain names, phone numbers, timestamps, equipment identifiers, building or location descriptions, and other details supplied by the customer or technician. Chitworks preserves original evidence so customers can review the source beside later classifications, summaries, and corrections.

Service providers and disclosure

Chitworks uses service providers for infrastructure, authentication, data storage, email, messaging, monitoring, and other operational needs. These providers may process information only as needed to provide their services to Chitworks and its customers. We may also disclose information at a customer organization's direction, to protect the service or its users, or when reasonably required by law.

Retention and customer control

Information is retained while an account is active and as reasonably needed to provide the service, maintain security and backups, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. An organization is responsible for deciding what operational information its users submit and for keeping technician and membership information current.

Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect customer information, including access controls and organization-level data isolation. No system can guarantee absolute security, and customers should protect credentials and promptly report suspected unauthorized access.

Automated processing

Chitworks may use automated or AI-assisted processing to extract structure, suggest matches, and help organize submitted maintenance evidence. Original messages and photographs remain available beside structured interpretations.

Children

Chitworks is intended for business and workplace use and is not directed to children. Do not use the service to submit personal information about a child without appropriate authority.

Questions and changes

Account holders may ask about, correct, or request deletion of their account information, subject to the organization's control of business records and applicable retention requirements.
